After losing my mom to cancer in March 2017, I was feeling powerless. Like there was nothing I could do. So I decided to do something about it, something uniquely me, that would be fun, and that could help me and other people at the same time. That thing was the MIZZ VICKIE MEMORIAL SONGWRITING MARATHON.

The idea was to write and record fifty brand-new songs in under 24 hours to raise money for Cancer Treatment, specifically the Tom Baker Cancer Treatment Centre here in Alberta, Canada.

On January 13, 2018, I wrote fifty songs and recorded them with Scratch Buffalo ALL IN UNDER 24 HOURS! We raised more than $4,000 dollars, live-streamed all 24 hours, and posted each song as it was recorded to BandCamp.

One month after the marathon, we took the songs offline. The only way to hear them was to have bought them during that month.

Well, it’s been a year!!

In honour of the one year anniversary – ALL THE SONGS ARE AVAILABLE for a LIMITED TIME ONLY. And we’re still donating all the profits!

IMPORTANT: If you’ve donated to ANY CANCER CHARITY in the past year or do so now, e-mail us and we’ll give you all the songs for free – we’ll use the honour system, just say you did it and we’ll send it to you. This is a great option if you want tax-receipts. Be aware BandCamp keeps some money from all sales, so we can’t donate that. Another reason to give generously to your local charity. scratchbuffalo AT gmail.com
